Representation in commercial and court disputes

Before recommending court proceedings, we assess the evidence, procedural risks and economics of the dispute and tell you frankly whether it makes sense to sue, defend or negotiate a settlement. When a dispute is worth pursuing, we pursue it fully, before Slovak and Czech courts, from one office.

What we'll do for you

We conduct disputes in stages, and before each stage you know what to expect and what it will cost, including a frank recommendation when agreement is better than another round of proceedings.

  • Dispute assessment

We assess the claim's legal basis, evidence, limitation, procedural risks and recoverability — and recommend whether to sue, defend or negotiate.

  • Pre-action stage

A legally substantiated demand, negotiation with the other party and preparation of a settlement agreement where it makes economic sense.

  • Claim or defence

We prepare the submission with full legal and factual grounds and propose evidence in a way that avoids unnecessary delay.

  • Representation in proceedings

Hearings, evidence, procedural submissions and appeals — we keep you informed and discuss every further step with you.

  • Enforcement

We turn a final judgment into actual performance through an enforcement application in Slovakia or Czechia, or recognition and enforcement in the other country.

What clients ask

Didn’t find your question? Ask us directly →

Do we have to go to court immediately?

No — and we often advise against it. Most disputes can be resolved through a legally substantiated demand and settlement negotiations, which is faster and cheaper. We recommend court proceedings when the claim is strong, the other party is unresponsive and the economics of litigation make sense.

How do I know whether I have a chance of winning?

From the documents, we assess the legal basis, evidence, limitation and the other party's likely approach and give you a candid evaluation, including weaknesses. If we see no prospects, we tell you before you spend money on proceedings.

What should I do if I receive a claim?

Do not miss the deadline — short periods for a response or opposition run from service of a claim or payment order. Send us the documents promptly; we assess the defence, prepare the response and take over the proceedings.

How long does litigation take?

It depends on the court, the complexity of the evidence and the other party's conduct — from months for undisputed matters to years for complex evidence. During the assessment, we give you a realistic estimate for your particular case and court.

Can you represent us in both Czechia and Slovakia?

Yes — a lawyer registered with both Bar Associations conducts proceedings before Slovak and Czech courts. In cross-border disputes, we also address where it is more advantageous to sue and how to enforce the decision in the other country.

How much does representation cost?

The price depends on the value and complexity of the dispute. We divide litigation into stages and confirm each price in advance — if you succeed, the other party generally pays the costs of the proceedings.
